The system also envisages the existence of projection fixing screws which are positioned against the inner face of the respective pipe and prevent movement of the rectangular sheet (1) mentioned above.

Description
The present invention refers to the improvements of a locking connection system for pipe lines in case of expansion or contraction of the pipes, and whose essential feature is the fact that the possible aggressive action of the components of the connection system on the aligned pipes that are to be connected, and especially in the case of pipes that are composed of polyethylene, is compensated without affecting the assembly through the addition of a protective element, components, structure and the function of this element being described below.
The basic features of the connector system which is the subject of the patent application CH 0361/09 are based on the incorporation of two anchoring flanges securely coupled to one another by means of rods. , and a watertight flange which is centrally disposed at the ends of the pipes to be connected.
These anchoring flanges are securely attached to the outer surface of the pipes to be connected by means of an anchoring profile disposed in its interior and having a series of projections in the shape of a truncated cone and fixed to the outer face of the pipes. such that, when the pressure screws of the outer loop are tightened, said projections are practically pushed into said outer face of the pipe, ensuring sufficient anchoring to prevent movement.
Purpose of Added Enhancements
The physical characteristics of polyethylene composite pipes cause changes in their dimensional stability, particularly with respect to their diametrical profile, when a certain clamping action is exerted from the outside.
In the case of the use of the lock fitting system which is the subject of the patent application CH 0361/09, although the use of the flanges having the projections mentioned above is essential to ensure all linear displacement caused by expansions or contractions due to changes in temperature, the action of said projections which, when pushed into the outer surface of pipes composed of polyethylene, can cause deformations of their structure. These deformations can cause a loss of watertightness in the connection area of the aligned pipes.
This problem is solved by a device according to claim 1. Modes of execution are defined by the dependent claims.
This problem is sufficiently solved by the insertion of an internal locking ring, a basic element of the improvements that are the subject of this patent, and the ring is disposed inside the ends of each of the pipes. to be connected and which becomes after its positioning and after adjustment by means of the expansion device with which it is equipped, the external pressure compensation element undergone by the pipes, whose deformation is prevented and the dimensional stability of their diameter both internally and externally maintained, thus fully guaranteeing watertightness and stability of the connection.

In order to better explain the application of the improvements described above, drawings are appended in which, by means of a practical example of embodiment, the internal locking rings which are the subject of the improvements of the invention. which have already been mentioned, are represented.<tb> In said drawings,<tb> fig. 1 <SEP> shows a perspective view of an embodiment of the internal locking ring equipped with a single expansion device;<tb> figs. 2 and 3 <SEP> respectively show elevation and plan views of the same locking ring;<tb> fig. <SEP> is a perspective view of a similar internal locking ring equipped with two expansion devices; and finally,<tb> fig. 5 <SEP> shows a schematic view of a connection system according to patent CH 0361/09 disposed at the ends of two connected pipes, the assembly being equipped with internal locking rings according to the present invention.
According to the drawings, the improvement of the aligned pipe lock fitting system consists of the application of a ring inside the end portion of each polyethylene pipe to be connected. This ring consists of a rectangular sheet of stainless steel 1 incomplete in the area where an expansion device is present, is arranged so that, when an action on this device, it causes the opening of the rectangular sheet 1 by expanding its diameter until it becomes strongly pressed against the inner face of the end of each of the pipes 6 and 7 to be connected.
The expansion ring 1 is equipped with a set of several identical screws 2 arranged in parallel and passing through openings 3a of a pin 3 which is arranged transversely to one of the open ends of the sheet rectangular 1, and the screws are retained by their respective heads 2a.
These screws 2 are threaded on the corresponding openings 4a of the spindle 4 which is arranged transversely and parallel to the spindle 3 at the opposite end of the rectangular sheet 1. These openings 4a of the spindle 4 are threaded with the same not that of the screws 2 so that these screws are threaded in the pin 4 mentioned above.
By acting adequately on respective expansion nuts 5 disposed on each of the screws 2, the necessary pressure is exerted on the passage openings 3a of the longitudinal pin 3 which causes the expansion of the ring 1 until it becomes strongly pressed against the inner face of the end portion of each of the pipes 6 and 7 in which said rings 1 have been arranged, and this at the moment of connection of the pipes by the device which is object of the lock fitting system according to the aforementioned patent application.
According to this latch connection system of the aforementioned patent application, and as it is schematically shown in FIG. 5, the two pipes 6 and 7 are fixed by anchoring flanges 8 and 8a together with the flange 9 of watertight connection, disposed at the center of the assembly. Each of these anchoring flanges 8 and 8a comprises on its internal face a loop 10 having a series of projections in the form of a truncated cone 11 which, when an action is exerted on the pressure screws of the anchoring flanges 8 and 8a , are essentially pushed into the outer face of the pipes which prevents any possibility of displacement.
It is precisely the force exerted on each of the pipes 6 and 7 at the moment when the projections 11 are pushed into their outer face which is compensated and neutralized by the stabilizing action of the rectangular metal sheet 1 of the ring. internal according to the improvements that are the subject of the present invention, which prevents any deformation of the diametral profile of each of the connected polyethylene pipes.
The description of the inner ring will be supplemented by the indication that a plurality of projection fixing screws 13 are arranged on the rectangular sheet 1 made of stainless steel to prevent any accidental movement of the ring along the inside of the pipe after positioning it against the inside of the pipe itself.
Similarly, a variant of the rectangular sheet 1 of stainless steel may have two expansion devices which are identical and symmetrical and arranged in diametrical opposition with respect to each other which is clearly shown in FIG. fig. 4.
After sufficiently describing the object of the improvements of the lock fitting system which is the subject of the aforementioned patent application, it should be emphasized that any variation in the dimensions, shapes and types of material used in the implementation of The practical work of this addition will not change the essence of the invention which is defined in the attached claims.

1. Latch connection system for pipe lines consisting of two anchor flanges (8, 8a) and a water-tight coupling flange (9), with truncated cone-shaped projections (11) being arranged on an inner loop (10) of each anchoring flange (8, 8a), characterized in that it comprises an internal locking ring disposed inside each end of the two pipes (6, 7) to be connected below the anchoring flanges (8, 8a), and fitted against the inner surface of the corresponding pipe, each locking ring consisting of at least one rectangular stainless steel sheet (1) incomplete in the region where a device expansion is positioned.

System according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the rectangular sheet (1) made of stainless steel which forms the internal locking ring comprises protruding fastening screws (13) adapted to be positioned against the inner face of the pipe and preventing moving said rectangular sheet (1) relative to the pipe.

System according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the expansion device of the rectangular sheet (1) of stainless steel carries a series of identical and parallel screws (2) arranged in passage openings (3a) d a pin (3) mounted transversely on one of the ends of the rectangular sheet (1), and retained by their respective heads (2a) screwed into corresponding openings (4a) threaded with a pin (4) which is arranged transversely to the opposite end of the rectangular sheet (1) and parallel to the pin (3) so that, when an action is exerted on nuts (5) of each screw (2) arranged between said pins (3, 4), a pressure is exerted on the spindle (3), causing the expansion of the rectangular sheet 1 of the ring until the latter becomes strongly pressed against the inner face at the end of each of the two pipes (6 and 7).

4. System according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that an internal locking ring comprises two expansion devices which are identical and symmetrical and arranged diametrically opposite one another.

A method of connecting pipe lines subject to expansion or contraction, comprising:Anchoring two anchoring flanges (8, 8a) and a water-tight connecting flange (9) on the outer surface of the ends of polyethylene pipes (6, 7) to be connected, by means of to the action of truncated cone-shaped projections (11) disposed on an inner loop (10) of each anchor flange (8,8a), and- the pressure depression of said projections (11) in the outer surface of the ends of the two pipes to prevent movement,said method being characterized by inserting an internal locking ring, inside each end of the two pipes (6, 7) to be connected, and below the anchoring flanges (8, 8a), said internal locking ring consisting of an incomplete rectangular stainless steel sheet (1) in the region where an expansion device is positioned, said locking ring being fitted against the inner surface of the corresponding pipe so as to eliminate the possibility of deformation of the pipe by offsetting the pressure exerted from the outside by the projections (11) pushed into the outside of each pipe.
